The Model 2100 DLS with High Level Shut-In delivers consistently accurate measurements of different types of fluids in both hazardous and non-hazardous environments. Multiple fluid densities and temperatures do not affect measurement. The DLS with High Level Shut-In effectively measures the level and temperature of a variety of liquids, including Crude oil, Diesel, Kerosene, Condensate, Gasoline, Water, and Others.
These digital level sensors are suitable for production monitoring, inventory control, leak detection (in stagnant tanks), high level alarm and well shut-in. Communications to SCADA systems can be digital or analog and the DLS works with many wireless systems using Modbus RTU protocols and ASCII.
With the addition of a third float, the Model 2100 DLS with High Level Shut-In provides two digital outputs, one for a high level alarm and one for a high-high level shut-in. This is all accomplished with two distinct circuits: one for normal continuous level and temperature measurement—the other for high level alarm and shut-in. The high level alarm requires no power and, unlike competitor’s sensors, is not affected by power outages. The high level alarm and shut-in feature is always active.
An integrated test fixture, allows for testing of the high level shut-in feature at any time and provides the added safety benefit of not having to open the tank hatch. A teflon-coated string attached to the third float provides a means to manually raise the float and trigger the high-level output/alarm.

After installing the sensor hardware and setting the initial level offset, these sensors require no additional calibration. All electronics, with the exception of those in the sensor housing, are sealed inside the sensor tube. The apparatus is intrinsically safe (when used with a qualified intrinsically Safe Barrier, such as Electrolab’s 2110 Barrier Unit) or explosion proof when used with the Explosion Proof Housing (Model 2110EX). Electrolab’s RU Flex 2100 DLS offers greater versatility, flexibility and more robust features than conventional guided-wave radar (GWR) level sensors. A dual float sensor measures multiple fluid levels and temperature measurements through a SINGLE TANK PORT, eliminating the need for multiple sensors in one tank. To accomplish these same measurement and alarm protections, GWR requires two separate ports in a tank. This single device can also read up to eight distinct temperature measurements.
Unlike radar, this sensor is not affected by electro-mechanical interference, tank turbulence or changing environmental variables. Simply install the sensor, set your initial level offset and the RU Flex 2100 DLS is ready to monitor your tank. Under normal operating conditions, no additional calibration is needed—EVER. Ongoing maintence is practically non-existent. The naturally oleophobic non-stick nature of the RU Flex hose helps ensure ongoing measurement accuracy by preventing paraffin and other pollutants from building up on the sensor.Cleaning of the RU Flex 2100 DLS is rarely necessary.
The RU Flex 2100 DLS offers all the benefits of Electrolab’s Model 2100 Digital Level Sensor with the added flexibility of a bendable material that can be coiled to an 35” diameter. This means the sensor can fit neatly in a box for shipping and storage. All components (sensor, housing, cord grip, floats, weight and grounding cable) fit neatly inside the same box, reducing the possibility of misplaced pieces. Once carried to the installation site and assembled, the RU Flex 2100 DLS is easily carried on the shoulder and installed in a tank by one person. A weight, sized based on the length of the sensor and turbulence of the tank, attaches to the bottom of the hose before installation to ensure the sensor straightens out inside the tank and remains straight.

Electrolab’s TankChek is a Local Display and Modbus Scanner custom configured to communicate with one or more Model 2100 Level Sensors to provide tank level and temperature data in an easy-to-read format. When mounted at the base of a group of tanks, your field technicians can drive up and efficiently monitor the status of several tanks from one local display— keeping them safely off tanks and catwalks.
Electrolab’s High Level Probe offers a single-point float switch for either high or low level detection in liquid tanks. The unit mounts vertically through a female NPT port on the top of the tank . The size requirements for this port vary depending on the material used for the probe, fiberglass (left) or stainless steel (right). A side mount version of the High Level Probe is available upon request for stainless steel tubes. An adjustable mounting grip provides for ease of installation. The High Level Probe can be built to custom lengths. The float activates and maintains the output until the level returns to normal.
The UL Certified, Intrinsically Safe, High Level Probe incorporates discrete circuits of magnetic reed switches configured such that when the float is seated on the hose clamp, the switches are activated (closed). As the float rises (approximately 0.75” from the hose clamp), the switch will open indicating a “High” or alarm condition. This configuration is very useful in the event a wire is ever cut, indicating an open circuit.

This optional, oleo-phobic coating significantly reduces paraffin buildup on steel instrumentation and eliminates the issue of floats sticking and impacting measurement accuracy. Cleaning of the High Level Probe is rarely necessary.
Using patented reed-switch technology, the Model 2100 Digital Level Sensor (DLS) provides accurate measurement of total fluid level, water-interface level and fluid temperature. Up to eight temperature sensors can be placed along the length of the DLS for monitoring different temperature zones. Switch placement ensures accuracy without cumulative error. Up to 32 tanks can be monitored with a single control unit.
